As the winter months soldier on, we can get lost in the trenches. Tis the season for colds, flus, chilly weather and short days. Take these darker months as a time to rebalance, rest and recover. Eat foods that nurture and support your health and wellness, participate in movement and exercise that feels good and productive, enjoy the longer nights as it may mean longer sleeps...guilt free (it is part of our body's natural rhythm). Tune into your body, your mind, your spirit and treat yourself with loving kindness. The happier we are, the healthier we will be, the mind sets the tone for the body: DIS-EASE creates DISEASE.
How to show yourself the LOVE...
Give yourself a little grace:
We seem to be easier on others than we are on ourselves. If a friend is sick, stressed or overwhelmed, we give them grace. We give them a hug and tell them to take time to rest and recuperate. We wouldn't think that they were weak or unsuccessful. Why can't we extend the same loving kindness to ourselves?
Let's try to treat ourselves with gentle unconditional love. Believe it or not, YOU are the most important person in your life.Do what you need to do to protect, nurture and love on yourself.
Your thoughts are not facts:
Remember just because you have a thought about yourself or about what people think of you, does not mean it's true. Thoughts are not facts. If you are having a self-critical day remember that every negative thought you have is not a fact. Also, be aware that your thoughts can dictate how you experience life and how you interact with others, your thoughts can dictate your actions and manifest into reality, this is why it is crucial to think POSITIVE. If you are going to choose a thought to believe about yourself...choose a good one. manisfest what you want, not what you don't want.
Negative thoughts can sabotage you and create a reality that you don't want. Have you ever heard the saying: "Worrying is like praying for what you don't want". Let's commit to the practice of flipping those thoughts around into productive and supportive thoughts. Thoughts that serve us.
