Should I quit? How do I know when to persevere or when to throw in the towel on my health and wellness goals.
My motto for years now has been “Persistence Trumps Talent”. Why? Because I truly believe that the ability to push through barriers and keep getting up after you fall down is a skill that greatly outweighs any physical talents or skills. It's easy to stay committed to something when everything is going right, but can you power through when things get rough? How do you know if its time to give up or keep going?
Of course you might not always feel like picking yourself up after a fall but the fact that you do... says it all. It says that there is a part of you that isn't finished yet. Something inside you doesn't want to quit. The magical part is that every time you decide to keep going, you get a little closer to your goal. You are putting your vibrations, your energy into the universe and momentum is created. You get back what you put in.
The thing about persistence and perseverance is you have to follow your intuition to garner the strength to proceed otherwise you may lose your bounce backability. Tune into that little voice... Is it telling you not to give up? Or is it telling you that this is not your passion and it might not be the right path for you? You really have to listen, so you can connect to what you truly want and need. In order to embrace the journey, you need the Want and Desire to keep going. You have to really want it.
You have to be passionate about what you are doing, although you may not love all the steps along the way. There will be down times, times when you want to give up, times that you don't want to try anymore. times where it seems like "nothing is working". But if you have a passion for what you are trying to achieve you will keep going.
For example: if you are an athlete you have to either love your sport or the process of competition. If you are working on your mindset, you have to be committed and passionate about the journey of learning and growing. If you are embarking on fitness or nutrition journey, you have to love the feeling or the possibility and idea of being healthy and strong. If deep down you don't care or see the value in what you are trying to achieve you will never stick to it...you won't last. You have to get passionate about what you are doing if you want to push past the barriers and make it to the top xo Anna.
