Next year is THE year I will make changes! I am going to go all the way in 2018! Nothing can stop me. Cut to a couple weeks later, someway, somehow those goal have lost their lustre. So have can we set and achieve goals that we actually keep? Goals that actually inspire us instead of defeating us? I truly believe you need to look at the bigger picture of what you actually want and why. You need to have that strong vision, mission and pasion for your yourself and what you are trying achieve. If you do not feel that way about your goals. Scrap them and go right back to the drawing board.
I am not saying you shouldn't do that, I am just saying I don't think that you have to. You do not have to squash your goals to fit in or make others feel comfortable. The point is you get to pick. You get to be the boss of your own body and your own life. You can create a blueprint for your life that suits all your goals, aspirations and needs. In fact they need to be your OWN. Otherwise it won't be fun, it won't last long and truly...what is the point? It is really easy to be status quo. We may eat the birthday cake at the office to be part of the group or drink too much wine because everyone else is. I am NOT judging you if you want to eat cake and drink wine. Trust me. Life is not about rules and restrictions that are set by others. I have good news though... YOU are the BOSS. I also have bad news...YOU are the BOSS. Some may say: "let me get this straight...you are a health coach and you are telling me I can eat cake and drink wine whenever I want?" Yes, yes you can. Like I said you are the boss. But, let me explain. If you are the boss of a company do you want to make decisions that will run that company into the ground? No, of course not and it's the same for you personally. That's why I suggest we get passionate, get clear and make a mission statement for the body.
Write a mission statement for you Body:
A mission statement for your body means getting in touch with what you really want. Just like building a business or learning a new skill it may take some discipline and commitment to grow and find what works for you and your body. I am just asking that we consider taking ownership over our health, our wants, our needs, our deep desires.
Focus on how we want to feel and what we want to get out of life. Lets run away with the idea of health as freedom.( Health as a means to do more, be more and enjoy more.)* I think you should drop this last sentence
Lets rebel against the norm and stick up for ourselves and what we want. xo Anna.
